Atlas Counseling is a preferred provider for Premera BCBS, First Choice Health, and Wellspring EAP, and we accept out-of-network insurance benefits for most other major insurance carriers. If you are hoping to use your insurance to offset the cost of therapy, please check out our list of frequently asked questions below!

Do you take my insurance?

We are a preferred provider with:
- Premera/Lifewise/Anthem
- First Choice Health/Kaiser Access PPO
- Wellspring EAP

We submit out-of-network claims to many other major insurance companies:
- Regence
- Unitedhealthcare/Optum
- Aetna
- Cigna

If you would like to use your benefits but your insurance is not listed, let us know! If we are unable to bill them directly, we can provide you with a statement to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

What does out-of-network mean?

Insurance companies typically have two types of providers: in-network/preferred and out-of-network. In-network providers have signed a contract with your insurance company, so they are often mandated to provide services for a significant discount from their usual fee.

As an out-of-network provider, we file insurance as a courtesy to our clients. We do not have a contract with each insurance company, and we do not control how much your insurance will pay on a claim. We bill our usual and customary fee, and you are ultimately responsible for whatever amount your insurance company is unwilling to cover.

How much will my insurance cover?

As part of your initial setup in our system, our Client Care team will help you verify your in-network or out-of-network benefits. This process typically takes only a few minutes and can even be done while you are on the phone. In order to verify your benefits, we will need the following information:
- The name of your insurance provider
- Your insurance ID number
- The name and date of birth of the primary insured person
- Your child's name and date of birth

We also encourage families to be knowledgeable about their own insurance benefits. Don't just take our word for it; contact your insurance plan directly to confirm what will/will not be covered!
